Anna Marie Julian McCann, 92

FULTON, NY – Anna Marie Julian McCann, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday December 8, 2017, surrounded by her family at the Cottages at Garden Grove, Cicero, NY.

Mrs. McCann was born in Fulton, NY to the late Harry and Catherine (Celella) Julian.

She remained a longtime resident of Fulton.

Anna worked as a telephone operator for Alltel in Fulton.

She also worked at Sealright and Nestles, and was a hostess for the Swiss Chalet in Baldwinsville.

Mrs. McCann was a licensed beautician and a graduate of the Syracuse Beauty School.

She was a member of the Lake Country Quilt Guild.

She won many awards for her beautiful quilts.

She created a quilt panel for the AIDS Awareness Quilt in the 1990s, which continues to be shown around the world.

Her family and friends were blessed with the fruits of her artistic talents and her delicious meals and baked goods.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, Donald McCann, in 2005; and siblings, Phillip, Michael and Joseph Julian, Mary Mullen, Angie Marino, Ernestine Price, Frances VanWie and Yolanda Roy.

Mrs. McCann is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia (Loren) Preston of Oswego and Donna (Christopher) Dennihy of Auburn; and her loving companion, Robert Ryan of Camillus, NY.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Shaun McKinney (Maria Wszolek) and Katherine Dennihy (Sean Owens); great-grandson Maximus Owens; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Church, Fulton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Scardella.

Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be conducted 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.
