Blanche Janice, 99

OSWEGO, NY – Blanche Janice, 99, of Oswego died Wednesday February 28, 2018, in Morningstar Care Center, Oswego.

Ms. Janice was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Frank and Pauline (Tobias) Janice.

She was a waitress at many local restaurants including Vince’s Steakhouse, Dubois’, Pontiac Hotel, as well as in Hawaii and Florida.

She was inducted into the Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame and was an avid golfer.

Ms. Janice is survived by her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Joseph, Stanley, Frank, Pauline, Charlie, Josie, Helen, Ann, Thomas and Al.

Graveside services were at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.

  2. I am so sorry to hear about Blanche’s death. She was a lovely woman who was always gracious. She was the end of an era. May she rest in peace.

  3. Blanche was a great golfer. She gave me some tips when I played in a league with her at Griffins Greens. Such a super nice lady. Rest In Peace Blanche. You will not be forgotten!
