OSWEGO, NY – Brenda Woodard, 70, formerly of Fulton, passed away at Van Duyn, Syracuse, NY, on Monday November 13, 2017.
She was born in Potsdam, NY, to the late Kent and Shirley (Alexander) Woodard.
Brenda was a resident of Fulton and Oswego for most of her life.
Miss Woodard received an Associate Degree from Maria Regina College, Syracuse.
She received a Bachelor Degree from D’Youville College, Buffalo, where she was on the Dean’s List.
Miss Woodard received a Master Degree in Education from State University of NY College at Geneseo, where she was also on the Dean’s List.
Miss Woodard was a former member of St Joseph’s Columbiette Auxiliary #254 and St. Joseph’s Columbiette Auxiliary #227.
She was also a charter member and volunteer of the Step by Step Club House.
Miss Woodard was an active volunteer and member of choir at Holy Family Church, Fulton and Our Lady of Solace Church, where she also acted as a Cantor for four years.
Brenda was the prior owner of her beloved Dallas.
Dallas was her black Labrador Retriever and graduate of the animal service program – Guiding Eye’s for the Blind.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Betty-Jo Woodard of Oswego; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held privately at Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego, NY 13126.
Burial will be conducted privately at Hillside Cemetery, Central Square, NY.
There will be no calling hours.
