Carmella Kieper, 90

OSWEGO, NY – Carmella Kieper, 90, of Oswego, died Sunday morning August 10, 2014, in Oswego Hospital.

Carm was born in Italy, the daughter of the late Thomas and Nancy (Palmitesso) Ross, and as a child her family moved to Oswego.

She worked as a waitress at Anne’s Donut Shop, and Wade’s Diner Oswego before her retirement.

She was a communicant and active volunteer at St. Joseph’s Church.

Carm was an active member of the Columbiettes, St. Anne’s Society, RSVP, Golden Ages, and a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

She was predeceased by her husbands John Black Sr., in 1970, and Ralph E. Kieper, in 2011; her daughter, Jean Reynolds, in 2002; and her sisters, Mary Harbison, and Vi Kline.

She is survived by her son, John (Joanne) Black of New Mexico; daughter, Judy (William) Dale of Oswego; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.
