Carolyn Austin, 76

FULTON, NY – Carolyn Austin, 76, of Fulton, died Friday October 13, 2017, at Morningstar Care Center, Oswego.

Mrs. Austin was born in Watertown, the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Chrisman) Blackburn.

She was a graduate of St. Lucy Academy, Watertown.

She went to the Dolly School of Dancing in Watertown and in 1951 won first place in the National Tap Dance contest.

Mrs. Austin was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Austin; and two daughters, Kelly and Tina Marie Salisbury.

She is survived by her children, James (Jessica) Salisbury of Fulton and Janel Salisbury of Fulton; and her siblings, Leo Blackburn of Black River, NY, Richard Blackburn of Texas and Beverly Clukey of Syracuse.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday 6 p.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St., Fulton.

Calling hours will be prior to the service from 4 – 6 p.m.at the funeral home.
