Catherine Tesoriero, 97

OSWEGO, NY – Catherine J. D’Amore Tesoriero, 97, of Oswego died Sunday April 13, 2014, at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.

Mrs. Tesoriero was born in Oswego the daughter of the late Sam and Adeline (D’Amico) D’Amore.

She was a graduate of Oswego High School, class of 1934, and she received a Professional Secretarial Standard Cerificate from National Secretaries Association.

Mrs. Tesoriero was a member of the National and New York State Association of Educational Secretaries, and a chapter member of Oswego County Educational Secretaries Association and Clerical Association of Oswego City School District.

Mrs. Tesoriero was a member of the senior advisory council for the city of Oswego.

She was employed with the city of Oswego for 14 years in various offices including the vital records as a statistical registrar.

Mrs. Tesoriero worked for 24 years for the Oswego City School District, retiring in 1979, as the secretary to the superintendent of schools.

She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Oswego.

Mrs. Tesoriero was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Tesoriero; daughter, Florence; and her sisters, Yolanda Lee and Isabelle Molinari.

She is survived by her children, Anthony (Martha) Tesoriero of Ohio and Karen (Dale) Connors of Virginia; her brother, Dr. Patrick D’Amore of Fredonia, NY; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church.

Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.

Dear Karen – I was so sorry to read about your Mom…we were on vacation and just got home…I think about you often and did not realize you were in Virginia, Norm & I have been in San Diego for almost 40 years, hard to believe, where did those 40 years go to??? We try to get back to Oswego every few years…If you get a chance drop me a line…[email protected]
