OSWEGO – David F. Ensman, 94, of Oswego, died Saturday December 27, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.
Mr. Ensman was born in Rochester the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Kamb) Ensman. He was a graduate of Erie County Technical Institute, Buffalo, NY. Mr Ensman owned Franklin Optical in Oswego for thirty years where he worked as an optician, working with Dr. Joseph Reilly, and Dr. Selma Sheridan, for five years. He was a member of the NYS Society of Opticians, a member of Marriage Encounter, Syracuse Cursillo, and past president of the Oswego Kiwanis. Mr. Ensman served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1954.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Mary (Meier) Ensman of Oswego and their children Patricia (David) Crisafulli of Oswego; Kenneth Ensman of Oswego; Andrew (Wanita) Ensman of OH; and Jennifer (Christopher Spradley) Kerley of SC, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Mr. Ensman was predeceased by his siblings Charles Ensman, Gerald Ensman, Richard Ensman Geraldine Ensman and Patricia Ensman.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday February 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Hall Newman Center 36 New Street, Oswego.
The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
