Dawn DeForest, 58

FULTON, NY – Dawn DeForest, 58, of Fulton, passed away peacefully Saturday April 9, 2016, at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY, with her loving husband, Alan DeForest, by her side.

Dawn was born in Potsdam, NY, to the late Raymond J. Bogart and survived by her mother Charlotte Bogart of Fulton.

Dawn was a “force of nature.”

She was mercurial, restless, vital, and curious about everything that went on in the world.

Dawn was passionate, determined, and indomitable.

The single most important message that Dawn always tried to express to the people she knew, cared and loved is that no matter what happens today that, “family is the most important thing that you will ever have happen in your life. Always cherish that.”

Dawn is survived by her husband of 35 years, Alan DeForest of Fulton, three children: Kellie (Bill) Phillips of Fulton, Kristie (Tom) Marsallo of Minetto, NY, and Richard “Tim” (Alexa Compson) DeForest of Fulton; her three sisters: Cindy (David) Halstead of Fulton, Judy Bogart of Oswego, NY, and Laura Bogart of Scriba, NY; her beloved grandchildren: Daniel, Jack and Billy Phillips, Erica Colasurdo, Alexa DeForest and Mia and Aaron Marsallo; and also several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral service or calling hours.

Burial will be held privately.

Dawn’s wish was for her family to have a celebration of life to be held at a later date when the weather is warm.

The family has requested that donations may be made to the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, One Children’s Circle  Syracuse, NY  13210.

The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, NY, has care of the arrangements.
