Dennis Pacheco, 51

OSWEGO, NY – Dennis Pacheco, 51, of Oswego, NY, left this world on Thursday March 17, 2011, at his home surrounded by family and friends.

Dennis was a 1977 graduate of Oswego Catholic High School.

He and Jane Kleinbach were married in Oswego on March 29, 1980.

He was accomplished in many diverse occupations.

He graduated from Chabot College of Hayward, Calif., with a degree in accounting.

Thereafter, the young couple moved to Texas where he learned the trade of machinist.

After the birth of their first daughter, Jessica, they moved back to Oswego, where a daughter, Kristin (Muppy) and a son, Nathaniel, were born.

There Dennis began a career in nuclear power at James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant where he started as an office worker, continued as a maintenance electrician and retired as a licensed reactor operator.

He was employed at the JAF Nuclear Power Plant (Entergy) for almost 30 years.

Dennis worked hard and played hard.

He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed motorsports, hunting, construction, woodworking and playing harmonica.

He appreciated all types of music, but especially enjoyed the blues and was known to do an impromptu Elvis impersonation on many occasions.

He enjoyed coaching soccer and baseball teams as his children grew through the years.

When he wasn’t coaching, he was their greatest fan.

Dennis would say he was blessed with a wonderful life, surrounded by many friends and a loving family.

His family was the center of his world.

He was an extremely proud husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Kleinbach) Pacheco; and children, Jessica (Robert) Newson of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Kristin (David) DeGroff of Royal Oak, MI, Nathaniel Pacheco of Oswego; daughter-friend, Jennifer Cushman of Fredericksburg, Va.; and grandchildren, Cole and Allison Newson.

  3. Jane,
My sincerest condolences to you and your family. I remember Dennis in the early years at Hamilton Homes when he lived right next door. We once had a haunted house in his apartment and charged the neighborhood kids an admission price to get in. It was neat to see him again during the high school years. He was always the same fun-loving, go-get-em kind of guy. He was one of those people you couldn’t help but like.
    Peace Dennis.
