Doris Valelunga, 96

FULTON, NY – Doris Valelunga, 96, of Fulton, passed away peacefully Monday morning June 1, 2015, at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego, NY.

She was born in Fabius, NY, to the late Howard and Marion (Fairchild) Brown.

Mrs. Valelunga has been a resident of Fulton for most of her life.

She was past employed with General Electric, Syracuse, NY, for two years, Montgomery Ward, Fulton, for 10 years, a co-owner and operator of Valelunga’s Grocery Store, Fulton for 10 years and she also was also involved with a photography business for children for two years.

Mrs. Valelunga was an avid bowler and she loved crossword puzzles and to read.

She was a past volunteer with RSVP, Fulton, and the A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Fulton.

Mrs. Valelunga was also a member of the Tuesday Afternoon Coffee Hour Bowling League, Fulton.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Ernest Valelunga in October of 2014; daughter, Nancy Quinn, in 2005; three brothers, Kenneth Brown, Donald Brown and Howard Brown; and two sisters, Norma Palmer and May Fisher.

Mrs. Valelunga is survived by three children: Vincent Valelunga of Fulton, Patricia (Daniel) Hall of Fulton and Sharon (David) Reiter of Arizona; son-in-law, Bernie Quinn of Fulton; four siblings: Elsie Case of New Mexico, Shirley Hayes of Florida, Shelby Phillips of Florida and Robert Brown of Apulia, NY; three 3 grandchildren: Eileen (Aaron) Quinn Fritton of Oswego, Dana Reiter and Devin Reiter of Minnesota; two great-grandchildren: Kylie and Cole Fritton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, with Rev. Moritz Fuchs officiating.

Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

    Patty,Vince,Sharon,you had sweet Parents that grew with my parents.
