FULTON, NY – Gary L. “Twink” Williamson, 69, of Granby, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 20, 2018, at the V.A Hospital, Syracuse, NY.

He was born in Fulton to the late Donald and Arlene (Austic) Williamson.

Twink had remained a life resident of Granby.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War having served from 1969-71.

Twink retired from the Syracuse Local #545 Operating Engineers after 20 years of service.

He was a member of the Phoenix V.F.W. and Hannibal American Legion.

Gary is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean (Tenhundfeld) Williamson of Fulton; their three children: Saun T. (Yvette) Williamson of Virginia, Stacy R. (William Raymond) Mitchell of Fulton and Rebecca A. (Joe) Sparks of Virginia; two siblings: Judy (Harry) Grover of Fulton (and Kansas,) and Mark Williamson of Liverpool, NY; five grandchildren: Keely G. Williamson, Saun T. Williamson II, Breanna A. Mitchell, Caitlyn L. Mitchell and Haileigh “Hope” Sparks; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be conducted Monday, February 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, followed by a funeral services at 6 p.m. with Rev. James Schultz officiating.

The New York State Military Honor Guard will bestow Military Honors.

Burial will be held privately.

  1. Rest In Peace my brother in Arms. I too served in the U.S. Army 1969-71 and in Vietnam. It is time for you to rest now, you have done a great service to our country! Welcome home and thank you for your service.
