George T. Stephenson, 90

FULTON, NY – George T. Stephenson, 90, of Fulton, died Friday August 29, 2014, at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney.

He was born Fulton to the late George and Irene (St. Onge) Stephenson.

He remained a lifetime resident of Fulton.

Mr. Stephenson was World War II veteran having served in the Army from 1942-1945 in the European Theatre.

He retired from Armstrong Industries, Fulton, after 40+ years where he worked as a quality controller.

Mr. Stephenson was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus Council #254.

He was a 4th degree knight and a past member of the color corps.

Mr. Stephenson was a member of the Volney Senior Citizens and Oswego County Visually Impaired.

He was also a trainer with the RSVP Senior Bone Builders Group and a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church, Fulton, and Holy Trinity Church, Fulton.

He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Reina Stephenson, in 1994.

Mr. Stephenson is survived by his children: Arthur (Sherry) Stephenson of California, Thomas (Faith) Stephenson of Ottawa, Canada, Michael (Linda) Stephenson of Fulton and Mary (Daniel) Spier of Fulton; sister, Pauline Chesbro of Florida; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Church, Fulton, where Rev. John Canorro and Rev. Robert Stephenson (nephew of George) will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

  1. A very special gentleman. I enjoyed knowing him and his wife Reina through many activities at Immaculate Conception Church down through the years. First class people all the way.
