Helen H. Spinner, 91

FULTON, NY – Helen H. Spinner, 91, of Fulton, died Saturday November 8, 2014, at Oswego Hospital, Oswego.

She was born in Fort Covington, NY, to the late Frank and Rachel (Smith) Hamood.

Mrs. Spinner has been a resident of Fulton for most of her life.

She retired as a registered nurse after working for several years at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton.

Mrs. Spinner was a past member of Catholic Daughters of America, the Holy Family Altar Rosary Society, Legion of Mary, and the A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital Retired Nurses.

She was a counselor with the Al-Anon program for more than 16 years, a volunteer with hospice and a past member of several Senior Citizen organizations both locally and in Waverley, NY.

Mrs. Spinner was predeceased by her husband, Romeo; daughter, Barbara Jeanne; and sister, Mildred LaPage.

She is survived by her son, Romeo Spinner Jr., of Hannibal; sisters: Elizabeth Facteau of Tupper Lake, NY, and Dorothy Lassonde of Florida; her former daughter-law, Marcella (Daniel) Ferens of Fulton; grandsons: Romeo Phillip (Jacqueline) Spinner and Ryan Adam Spinner; great-granddaughter, Skyler Barbara Spinner; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at the Sugar Funeral Home, with Rev. James Schultz officiating.

Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

  2. I worked with Helen for several years at Lee Memorial Hospital.. She was a wonderful lady and watch me grow up in church..Our deepest sympaties go out to her son and daughter. RIP Helen
