OSWEGO, NY – Howard L. Baker, 73, of Oswego, died Sunday May 13, 2018, at his home peacefully with his family by his side.
He was born in Oswego, the son of the late Clarence and Ida (Bristol) Baker.
Mr. Baker was a former employee with the Department of Public Works for the city of Oswego.
He enjoyed reading, playing cards, going to the races at Oswego Speedway and watching NASCAR.
He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed horse racing.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria Baker of Oswego; and their children, Michael Baker of Oswego, Christine (Mark) Duplessis of Oswego, Howard Baker Jr. of Oswego, Rockwell (Jennifer) Baker of Oswego and Gina Noto of Oswego; and his 10 grandchildren, Dylan, Joshua, Nicole, Morgan, Brandon, Haley, Devin, Nolan, Abigail and McKenna.
In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Mary (Ed) Johnson of Oswego, Nancy (Kevin) Furletti of Oswego, Kathy (Charles) Gibson of Oswego and Thomas (Holly) Baker of Oswego.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego, NY.
