FULTON, NY – James B. Shutts Jr., 48, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

He was born in Oswego, NY, and he had remained a lifetime resident of Fulton.

James was a sheet metal worker for several years and had worked the past few years for Novelis, Scriba, NY.

He has always been an avid race fan of all types of racing.

The last few years, he and his son, James, had spent time racing Karts at Oswego Speedway.

James also loved hockey and enjoyed playing for many years.

He was predeceased by his sister, Vickie Frawley Gioia, in 2004.

James is survived by his children: James (Rachel Barnes) Shutts and Jessica (Eric) Francis; his best friend and love, Melissa Mansfield and her sons: Mitchel and Connor; his mother, Judy (Robert) Young and his father James (Barbara) Shutts Sr.; his grandchildren: Austin James Shutts, Ava Lynn Francis and Alaina Francis.

James is also survived by his siblings: Donald (Jean) Hart, Joseph Hart, Jennifer (John) LeBlanc, Donna (Erie Baum) Shue, Debra (Dean) Burridge, Douglas (Cynthia) Young, Dennis (Arlene) Young, Danny (Connie Clancy) Young, David (Tom Walker) Young, Mark Cole, Billy Cole, Barbie King, Dickie Whipple; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. in the funeral home officiated by Rev. Joseph Scardella.

Burial will be held privately at Fairdale Cemetery, Hannibal, NY.
