Jean Mihalek, 98

OSWEGO, NY – Jean Mihalek, 98, of Fulton, died at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY, on Monday May 27, 2013.

Mrs. Mihalek was born in Fulton to the late Frank and Rose (Scerbo) Gigliotti.

She had remained a resident of Fulton for all of her life.

Mrs. Mihalek was past employed at Shapiro Clothes, Oswego, as a saleslady.

She was a past member of Catholic Daughters Court Pere LeMoyne, Granby Seniors and Holy Family Altar Rosary.

Mrs. Mihalek was predeceased by her husband, Walter, in 2000; and siblings, Tony and Joseph Gigliotti, Josephine Botty and Mary Bevacqua.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Dr. Michael Botty of Fulton, Dennis Gigliotti of Glenfield, NY, Francis Gigliotti of Volney, Richard Gigliotti of Marion, NY, John Mihalek of North Carolina, Henry Mihalek, Evelyn Merrill and Jeanette MacEwen all of Fulton.

Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Thursday at the Sugar Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Minetto, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Robert Stephenson.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.

  1. My dear Aunt Jean passed away peacefully today, May 27, 2013. She was a wonderful lady,but I know she is in a better place. Give my dad, mom and Uncle Walter a hug for me. Love you, Aunt Jean…..rest in heavenly peace.
