FULTON – Joan A. Mattison, 75; of Fulton passed peacefully at home Monday morning, October 12.
Joan joined her lifelong partner Donald J. Ross who passed in 2008. She was born to the late Freemont and Rebecca (Vanzile) Mattison. Joan was a resident of Fulton for many years. She retired from the Oswego County Department of Social Services, Mexico, NY where she was employed as a Caseworker.
Joan is survived by her 6 children: Theresa (Terry Axtell) Mattison of Addison, NY, Patricia (Jamie) Dains of Corning, NY; Edith Cornish of Scottsville, NY; Linda (Ron) Stotz of Avon, NY; Jocelyn (John) Coffey of Pittsford, NY; Donald (Debbie) Ross of Fulton, NY; 13 grandchildren: Brandon, Samantha, Vanessa, Mike, Robert, Joe, Matt, Heather, Dustin, D.J., Jeremy Robert, Ryan and several great grandchildren.
Ms. Mattison’s wish was that there be no funeral service or calling hours. The family will host a Celebration of Life with the date to be determined. Burial will be held privately.

I worked with Joan @ DSS back in the 90’s. She was a nice lady and I always enjoyed running into her over the years. Sorry to hear of her passing and my condolences to her family.
So so sorry to hear about Joanie. She was a wonderful person – We had a couple of fun roadtrips together that I will cherish! But she would be very upset that you put her age in the Obit! RIP Joanie.
Loved Joanie somuch. DJ and my son Tommy went to daycare together. We were friends for more then 20 years. I know Joanie is on heaven a,nd so happy to be with the love of her life Don and with God.
