OSWEGO, NY – Joan E. Dain, 89, of Shady Lane, Oswego, died Friday September 29, 2017, in Upstate Hospital, Syracuse.

Mrs. Dain was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Minges) Menken.
Mrs. Dain was a resident of the Fulton – Oswego area for most of her life.
She was the manager for Canalview Gifts of Fulton and later worked at Argersingers of Fulton.
She was past president of the A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a hospital volunteer for many years.
She was a member of the Fulton Women’s Club and Fulton Friends of History.
She was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church, Oswego.
Mrs. Dain was predeceased by her husband, John E. Dain.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Gayle Dain of North Carolina; her brother, John Menken of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Harlee Tuttle, John R. Dain and Zachary Dain; and great-grandchildren, Riley and Hattie Tuttle.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Guy Baccaro at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, Oswego.
Calling hours will be Tuesday 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
