OSWEGO – John J. Cosemento, 84, of Oswego died Wednesday October 30, 2024 in the Oswego Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Cosemento was born in Oswego the son of the late John P. and Josephine (Pauldine) Cosemento, where he remained a lifetime resident. He served in the United States Army from 1962 until 1964. Mr. Cosemento is a retired employee of Stone & Webster, Oswego where he was a material supervisor. He was a graduate of Rochester Business Institute. He was an avid sports fan, and he enjoyed bowling and golfing.
John leaves behind his loving wife Connie Cosemento of Oswego and their children Danielle (Andy) Skotnicki of VA, and Nicole (John) Laspisa of MA. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Savannah Skotnicki, Madison Laspisa, Braden Laspisa, sister-in-law Linda Cosemento, and several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his brother Tom Cosemento.
Funeral services will be Sunday November 3, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego, with Rev. John Canorro.
Burial and committal services will be Monday November 4, 2024 at 11:30AM at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00PM at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the National Infectious Diseases or one of your choice.

My deepest condolences to the Cosemento family. It was Catherine Cosemento who took care of me in the 1950s and early 1960s when I was a child. The Cosemento name remained in my long-term memory. Again, my deepest and heartfelt condolences.
