OSWEGO, NY – John L. Gioia, 62, of Oswego, died Tuesday December 16, 2014, at Oswego Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Oswego to the late Philip and Hazel (Ritchie) Gioia.
Mr. Gioia was a lifetime resident of Oswego.
He was past employed with the Oswego City School District as a bus driver.
Mr. Gioia was also a former member of the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department.
He was predeceased by his brother, Philip Gioia; and granddaughter, Holly Gioia.
Mr. Gioia is survived by his wife of 37 years, Grace Gioia of Oswego; four children: Shannon Gioia of Oswego, John L. Gioia II of Oswego, Elery (Alicia) Gioia of Redfield, NY and Timothy Gioia of Oswego; his sister, Margaret (Bradford) Beers of Oswego; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be held privately.
There will be no calling hours.
