John R. Reilly, 82

FULTON, NY – John R. Reilly, 82, of Fulton, died Thursday June 23, 2016, in St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.

Mr. Reilly was born in Rochester the son of the late John and Mary (LaPlant) Reilly.

He worked in production planning for General Electric in Syracuse for forty years.

He was the owner of Reilly’s Firearms in Fulton.

He was the Union Stewart of the AFL-CIO-IUE Local #320.

He was a member of the United States Naval Reserves from 1952 until 1960.

He was a former altar boy and usher for Holy Family Church.

Mr. Reilly is survived by his wife, Elaine M. (Buske) Reilly of Fulton; and his children, John D. (Shirley) Reilly of Georgia, Michael R. Reilly of Fulton, Sandra Ann Reilly of Fulton, Douglas M. (Susan) Reilly of New Hampshire, Richard J. Reilly of Liverpool and Sallie A. (Bill) Acker of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Christopher (Lilly), Stephanie, Katie, Matthew, Brian, Sara, McKenzie and Taylor; one great-granddaughter, Arianna; and his niece, Sarah.

Mr. Reilly was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Reilly.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

  1. Dear Elaine and family,
    So sorry for you loss. I remember John, you and the kids every time I pass your old house. I also remember you as being my very first “job” as babysitting the kids every week. I guess that was my very first daycare job as after getting married and having my own 4 children, I ran my own daycare business for 38 years and I would tell every one that I got my start in high school taking care of the Reilly’s children. They were good kids and you and John were so nice to me. Thanks for the training. Prayers to all of you. ~Donna
