FULTON, NY – Loren B. “Butch” Guernsey, 79, of Fulton, passed away Thursday September 28, 2017, at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY, after a short illness.
He was born in Lysander, NY, to the late Burton and Mildred (Payne) Guernsey.
Mr. Guernsey was a resident of Fulton for most of his life.
He was past employed at Plainville Turkey Farm, Plainville, NY.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing softball during his younger years.
Mr. Guernsey also liked to play cards, watch television, and play his electronic Yahtzee game.
He was predeceased by three infant children: Loren Guernsey II, Ricky Guernsey and Kristine Lee Guernsey.
Mr. Guernsey is survived by his wife of 58 years: Marjorie Guernsey of Fulton, seven children: Teresa Guernsey of Fulton, Marjorie (Kevin Sr.) Hines of NC, April Forsythe of Fulton, Berton (Brenda) Guernsey of Fulton, Colleen Guernsey of North Carolina, Loren (Laura) Guernsey III of Westbury, NY, and Floyd Guernsey of Mexico, NY; three siblings: Patricia Lindsey of Florida, Douglas Johnson of Pennellville, NY, and Judith Johnson of Pennellville, NY; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander, NY.
There will be no calling hours.
The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, has care of the arrangements.
