OSWEGO, NY – Marie T. Scanlon Poprawski, 56, of Livonia, NY, died Thursday December 18, 2014, in Highland Hospital, Rochester, NY, after a brief illness.
She was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Lynch) Scanlon.
Marie was a machinist at Southco, Honeoye Falls, NY.
She was a graduate of SUNY Brockport.
Marie is survived by her loving husband and family: Daniel Poprawski and their children, Jessica (Ronald) Warner and Daniel (Merica) Poprawski.
Marie was the proud and loving grandmother of her three grandchildren: Riyen, Ronnie and Jace.
In addition, she is survived by her siblings: Joe (Patti) Scanlon of Oswego, Beth Scanlon of Oswego, Jay (Kathy) Scanlon of Oswego, her twin brother, Shawn (Theresa) Scanlon of Oswego, Paul (Beth) Scanlon of Florida, Katrina (Gary) Ludwigsen of Oswego, Alice (Tom) Benjamin of Oswego and Patty (Fred) Sweeney of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Gary (Mary) Poprawski; and sisters-in-law, Cindy (Richard) Hughes and Pam (Kenny) Poprawski; several nieces and nephews.
Marie enjoyed being outdoors especially camping and spending time with her family and friends.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3 -6 p.m. at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree State Route 15 and 20A Livonia, NY, where services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m.
Burial will be Richmond Center Cemetery Honeoye, NY.
Marie’s arrangements are in the care of her sister-in-law of the Sugar Funeral Home, Fulton, Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego.
