FULTON, NY – Mark Matthews, 61, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on Monday February 13, 2017, at University Hospital, Syracuse, after a prolonged illness.
He was born in Syracuse to the late George and Theresa (Barnhill) Matthews.
He had been a lifetime resident of Fulton, working for many years in construction.
Mark was predeceased by his siblings: George Matthews Jr., Wayne Byers, Reginald Matthews, Darwin Brown, Theresa (Bart) Clarke, Ed Devendorf and Ted Devendorf.
He is survived by his children: Mark and Nicole Matthews; seven siblings: Judy House of Baldwinsville, NY, Connie Bertollini of Baldwinsville, Mary (Dan) Parish of Baldwinsville, Timothy Matthews of Costa Rica, Patrick (Janet) Matthews of Oswego, NY, David Matthews of Baldwinsville and Michael Matthews of Baldwinsville; three grandchildren: Michael, Kaitlyn and Robert; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, with Rev. John Canorro officiating.
There will be a spring burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Sugar Funeral Home, Fulton.
