Meridth Izyk, 68

FULTON, NY – Meridth Izyk, 68, of Fulton, died Tuesday April 29, 2014, at James Square, Syracuse, after a long illness.

She was born in Lowville, NY, the daughter of Alberta Hirschey of Fulton and the late Raymond Hirschey.

Mrs. Izyk was past employed as a secretary with the First United Church, Fulton, and Woolworth’s, Fulton.

She was a volunteer with the First United Church and she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Izyk is survived by her husband of 46 years, James Izyk of Fulton; children:  John (Michelle) Izyk of Fulton, Joanne Izyk of Colorado, Cheryl Rathmann of Fulton and Cassandra (Chris Jones) Izyk of Fulton; sister, Marcia (Howard) Higby of Tennessee; brother, Peter Hirschey of Fulton; eight grandchildren: Natalie, Victoria and Alina, Trevor, Ethan, and Eliana and Hannah and Casey; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sugar Funeral Home, with Rev. David Nethercott officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.

Calling hours will be conducted 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.

  1. I am praying for all of you. Aunt Meridth was an amazing person and will be greatly missed. Wish I could be there.
