Rachel C. Morton, 79

FULTON, NY – Rachel C. Morton, 79, of Fulton and more recently of Liverpool, died Monday July 31, 2017, in St. Joseph Hospital, Syracuse, after a long illness.

Mrs. Morton was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Schuler and Leta (Baird) Cole.

Mrs. Morton worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Andrew Michaud Nursing Home, Fulton, retiring in 2001 after 30 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Morton; their daughter, Kathleen Morton Gristwood; and her sister, Janice Crow.

Mrs. Morton is survived by her children, Naomi Somers of Syracuse, Karen (T.J.) Stuber of Fulton, Judith (Paul) Altieri of Pennsylvania, Robert Morton of Liverpool and Linda Cougler of Liverpool; her grandchildren, Christopher, Chad, Jennica and Patrick; and great-grandchildren, Gianna, Arianna and Lennox.

Mrs. Morton is also survived by her brother, Harold (Jean) Cole of Fulton; and sister, Sharon Criss of Baldwinsville.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday August 4, at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Fulton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Scardella.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

  2. I have many great memories of Rachel and Doug. We worked together when we were young and then went camping together. They were so kind my kids called them gramps and gramma growing up. Lots of fond and fun memories. My sympathy to all the family. May they rest in peace.
