FULTON, NY – Ralph P. Borek, 97, of Fulton, died Sunday August 21, 2016, in St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.

Mr. Borek was born in Fulton, the son of the late Brony and Catherine (Zajac) Borek.

He retired from Nestlé’s in 1982 after many years of service.

Mr. Borek served in the United States Army in Aleutian Island during World War II, from 1942 until 1945.

He was a member of the Fulton Polish Home, the PLAV, where he was vice commander, and the Veteran Council.

Mr. Borek was predeceased by his wife, Josie Manitta Borek; son, Mike Borek; four brothers; and one sister.

Mr. Borek is survived by his children, Karen Borek of Fulton, Joanne (Hans) van der Mars of Arizona, Jim (Doreen Lumbra) Borek of Long Island and daughter-in-law Valerie Borek.

He is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 27, at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Robert Stephenson.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

  1. So sorry Karen and family for your loss. He was a sweet man and I know how much you loved him and your mom. You were so blessed to have him for so many years. May he rest in peace.
