Robert Thomas, 75

OSWEGO, NY – Robert Thomas, 75, of Oswego, passed away Thursday October 29, 2015, at Oswego Hospital, Oswego.

He was born in Clay, NY, to the late Carl and Bernice (Wagoner) Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was a United States veteran having served in the Army. He was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, in 1957.

He retired as a carpenter and welder by trade and was a member of the Carpenters’ Local #177 Union, NJ.

He was also a past member of the Millwright Local #747 Oswego, where he worked as a welder.

Mr. Thomas enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a member of the Dexterville Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his four children: Deborah A. Stanton of South Carolina, John M. Thomas of Hannibal, Heidi E. Thomas of Oswego and Samuel J. Thomas of Syracuse, NY; sisters, Joyce Brandano of New Hampsgire and Barbara Synder of Geneva, NY; and three grandchildren: Nunzio, Nasir and Jason.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be Monday 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
