OSWEGO, NY – Rose Battista, 90, of Oswego, died Thursday October 19, 2017, at St. Luke Health Services.
She was born in Oswego, the daughter of late James and Angelina (Parro) Barillo.
She was employed with several manufacturing companies throughout Oswego County, and retired from SUNY Oswego from the housekeeping department.
Mrs. Battista was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas “Pat” Battista.
Mrs. Battista is survived by her loving children, Patricia (Richard) Cummings of Oswego, Rosemary (Arnie Whiting) Ingersoll of Oswego, James Battista of Oswego, John (Mary Jane) Battista of Oswego and Mary Battista of Oswego; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition, she is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (William) Pierce, Frances Hibbert, and Sam (Anna) Battista.
Mrs. Battista was predeceased by her siblings, Grace King, Frances Brancato, Josephine Barillo, Michael, James, John, Peter and Joseph Barillo.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego.
Calling hours will be Monday 4 – 7 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
