Sebastian ‘Saby’ Murabito, 91

OSWEGO, NY – Sebastian “Saby” Murabito, 91, of Oswego, died Wednesday August 12, 2015, in St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.

Mr. Murabito was born in Oswego, the son of the late Joseph and Nancy (LaFortuna) Murabito.

He was the owner and operator of Wilson’s Food Market in Oswego from 1949 until 1969.

He then began working as a meat cutter at P & C Foods, in Oswego, until his retirement in 1987.

Mr. Murabito was a communicant and usher at St. Joseph’s Church.

He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge and the Dante Alighieri.

Mr. Murabito was predeceased by his wife, Helen Murabito, in 2004.

He is survived by his children: Joanne Murabito of Oswego, Michael (Joanne) Murabito of Maryland, Stephen (April) Murabito of Pennsylvania and John (Frances) Murabito of Liverpool;  his sister, Mary Phyllis (Arthur) Fleishman of Syracuse; brother, Rev. Angelo Murabito of Syracuse; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego.
