William ‘Peter’ Gunn, 76

FULTON, NY – William “Peter” Gunn, 76, of Fulton, passed away Thursday September 17, 2015, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born in Syracuse, NY, to the late Robert and Dorilla (Fourinier) Gunn.

Mr. Gunn lived in Syracuse until 1976 when he moved to Oswego to reside for 18 years before relocating to Fulton in 2000.

He was a United States veteran having served in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1964.

Mr. Gunn owned and operated Gunn Buick, Oswego, and later worked for Laqua’s, Fulton, for five years.

He was an avid golfer for years and he was lucky enough to have the “skill” to make two holes-in-one during his lifetime.

He was also referred to as the “local card shark” and he was known to enjoy tallying his golf buddies scores.

Mr. Gunn was also an accomplished wood worker and he loved joking with others.

His true love was his family and he was thought to be a selfless caregiver to both his wife and family his whole adult life.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Anne S. Gunn in 2013.

Mr. Gunn is survived by his wife, Carole Lescarbeau of Fulton; four children:  James (Cherie Falso) Gunn of Fulton, Suzanne Taylor of Fulton, Lisa (Tony) Gentile of Oswego and Peter (Emily) Gunn of Ohio; three brothers: Louis Gunn and Donald Gunn both of Florida and Richard Gunn of Texas; extended family, Gisele Lescarbeau, Rob Lescarbeau and Nicole (Peter) Sutorius; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption, Oswego, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Smegelsky.

Burial will be held privately.

There will be no calling hours.

The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, has care of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Upstate NY Chapter, 3532 James St. Syracuse, NY 13206 or the American Cancer Society, Swanka Blvd. East Syracuse, NY 13057.
