OSWEGO, NY – Geraldine J. Abbott, 83, a resident of 213 Highland Ave. in Syracuse, and formerly of Oswego, died Sunday morning Aug. 23, 2009, at Highland House in Syracuse.
She was born in Fulton, NY, and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Jennie Davis Arnold.
She was the widow of Donald Abbott, who died in 1987.
Mrs. Abbott had been employed for many years as a nurse’s aide at Oswego Hospital.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and had been a volunteer with Human Concerns.
She is survived by five daughters, Sharon (David) Ketcham of Oswego, Dawn (David) Lindell of Albany, Geraldine (Glen) Allen of Oswego, Marcia (Charles) Seymour of Syracuse and Mary (James) Farmer of Mattydale; three sons, Daniel (Kathy) Abbott of Oswego, Thomas (Doris) Abbott of Hannibal and Scott (Heather) Abbott of Mattydale; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, with Rev. Andrew Baranski officiating.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday 9-11 a.m. prior to the service.
