Kenneth Edward “Ed” Bonner, 80, 06/04/2008

SCRIBA, NY – Kenneth Edward “Ed” Bonner, 80, a resident of 187 Churchill Road in the Town of Scriba, passed away Wednesday June 4, 2008, in Seneca Hill Manor.

Mr. Bonner was born in Scriba, the son of the late Kenneth and Pearl (Meeks) Bonner.

Kenneth Edward “Ed” BonnerHe was a life resident of the area.

Mr. Bonner was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Japan and Korea.

Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed as a carpenter.

He was a life member of the VFW Post #2320, and served in various offices within the organization.

He was also a member of the American Legion and the DAV.

Mr. Bonner was an expert cabinetmaker, and enjoyed reading and building model ships.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Jones) Bonner of Scriba; three  daughters, Deanna (Nick) Carr of Scriba, Kathy Bonner of Oswego, and Marjorie Bonner of Scriba; a son, Daniel (Lola Barber) Bonner of Scriba; a step-daughter, Donna White of Oswego; a brother, Richard (Nannette) Bonner of Oswego; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren; and two nieces.

He was predeceased by a son, William Bonner, who died in 2007; and a step-son, William Alnutt, who died in 2004.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St. in Oswego.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
