Laura S. Andrews, 94

Laura S. Andrews, 94, of Sterling, died Saturday at Michaud Residential Health Services, Fulton. A native of Sterling, she was a life resident.  Laura owned and operated Laura’s Beauty Shop in Hannibal for many years.  She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal and Alter Rosary Society. She was the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Tighe Andrews.

Surviving are two nieces, Elaine M. Best of Fair Haven and Joan M. (Andrews) Becker of North Syracuse; two nephews, David B. Backman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Donald J. Backman of Oswego; eight grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, September 4, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 923 Cayuga Street, Hannibal with burial at St. Thomas Cemetery, Red Creek.  Calling hours are  5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal.

  1. Dear Joan, It is with sadness that I learn of the death of your dear Aunt Laura. It has been many years and miles since we spoke but you have often been in thought and prayer as I have had memory joggers of our times together in high school and afterwards.
