NEW HAVEN, NY – Lawrence J. Van Horn, 48, a resident of 955 County Route 1 in New Haven, died on Oct. 5, 2008, while working in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Santos and Patricia (Phillips) Lopez and was a graduate of Mexico schools.

Mr. Van Horn was currently a security manager for Entergy, where he had been employed for the past 16 years.

He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid football fan.

He was a loving husband and father.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, the former Robin Bristol; a son, Michael; and a daughter, Erika, both at home; a sister, Tonya (Kevin) Coe of Mexico; a brother, Clarence Thompson of Oswego; as well as several stepbrothers and stepsisters living throughout the country.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Lycoming United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in North Scriba Cemetery.

  2. Robin andfamily: We are so sorry for your loss. We will all miss Larry, he was a nice man and we know he was a wonderful husband and father. We had many chats about family life and life in general with Larry when he would come over to the shop. Michael was just a little boy–time goes so fast.
