Louis Deloff, 90, 10/09/2008

FULTON, NY – Louis Deloff, 90, of County Route 36, Hannibal, NY, died at the home of his daughter, Rosemary, in New Mexico after a long illness on Oct. 9, 2008.

He was born in Syracuse, NY, and he has been a resident of Hannibal for most of his life.

He retired as a steel worker with Crucible Steel, Syracuse, after 31 years.

Mr. Deloff was a US World War II veteran having served in the Army from 1943 to 1945.

He was a past commander of the Hannibal VFW Post #5380, past commander of the Hannibal American Legion Prior Stock Post, past member of the Fulton VFW Post #569 and a life member of the Fulton Polish Home.

Mr. Deloff enjoyed golfing, bowling, and baseball.

He was predeceased by his wife, Susie Deloff, in 2001; his son, Thomas Deloff, in 2003; and great-grandson, Joshua Deloff in 2006.

He is survived by his children, Rosemary (Bob) Woodard of New Mexico, Richard (Lucy) Deloff of Hannibal, William (Nancie) Deloff of Phoenix, Francis (Dola) Deloff of Oswego, Walter (Eileen) Deloff of Hannibal, and Gary (Pat) Deloff of Pulaski; 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.

Burial will be in Hannibal Center Cemetery, Hannibal.

Calling hours will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Sugar Funeral Home.
