Rosemary A. ‘Buddie’ Murray, 85, 09/18/2009

OSWEGO, NY – Rosemary A. “Buddie” Murray, 85, a resident of Simeon Dewitt Apartments and a former resident of 35 Hawley St., passed away on Sept. 18, 2009, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Danaher) McLaughlin.

She was a graduate of St. John’s School, Oswego High School and the Rochester Business Institute.

Buddie had worked as a secretary at Fort Ontario, the Cyclotherm Corporation and the Oswego County Probation Department.

She was also employed as a secretary at Leighton School for 28 years until her retirement in 1986.

She was a member of R.S.V.P. and was a volunteer for both the Red Cross and Human Concerns.

Buddie enjoyed swimming, camping, bowling and golf, as well as being an all around sports fan, especially when it came to the Yankees.

Surviving are daughter, Patricia (Stan Cianfarano) Murray of Queensbury, NY; three sons, Michael (Susan) Murray of Florida, Mark Murray of Oswego and Brad (Melinda) Murray of Cohasset Mass.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Carol McLaughlin and Kathryn Manilla.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. from St. Mary’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

The family request that contributions be made to either the St. Mary’s Restoration Fund or the Human Concerns.

  1. Best regards to all of the Murray’s. I will always remember the nicest person in the Leighton offfice when I taught at Leighton School. A beautiful person, glad I was able to know Buddy.
