Verne D. Gould, 64

Verne D. Gould, 64, of Volney, died Saturday at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Yonkers, she was a 50 year resident of the Central New York area. Verne and her husband Joe, owned and operated Gould Farms Horse Ranch in Volney since 1963. She was a member of the Empire Appaloosa Club and several other horse clubs in the CNY area.

She was predeceased by her father, Prentice Donnelly.

Surviving; her husband of 46 years Earl “Joe” Gould of Volney; a daughter, Sandy Gould of Volney; a son, Brian Gould of Volney; three grandchildren; her mother, Ethel “Sally” Donnelly of Auburn; three brothers, Glenn Donnelly of Weedsport, Dudley Donnelly of Bayonet Point, FL and Prentice Donnelly of Jordan.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial will be at Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander. Calling hours are Tuesday from, 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton.

  1. Dear Joe, Brian, and Sandy, So very sorry to read of the passing of Verne our very good friend. When we came home 4 years ago we drove to the farm to stop by to see Verne and Joe but saw the farm was for sale. She was a great lady an excellent horseman who taught me many things. Please know that Bob and I are so sorry and will keep you in our prayers. Your old neighbors Bob and Marion
