Wayne “Dutch” Knight, 68, of Hannibal, died Friday at home.

A native of Fulton, Wayne had resided in Hannibal for the past 38 years.  He retired from Carpenters Local 747 in Oswego after 45 years. Wayne was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, motorcycling and boating.  He was an avid drag racing fan and volunteered as a track photographer at E.S.T.A. Raceway in Cicero. He was past commander of Sons of the American Legion, Prior-Stock Post 1552 in Hannibal and past president of the Country Cruizers Car Club in Hannibal.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Grenville and Gladys Knight and by a sister, Sharon Samson.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 years, Joyce Knight of Hannibal; his children, Cathy (Duncan) Johnston of Martville and Troy (Ruth) Knight of Hannibal; four grandchildren, Jenna and Alex Knight, Nickolas Moore and Samantha Stoughtenger; his sister, Gwenna (Al) Dann and brother, Roy Knight both of California; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with services immediately following at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal. Burial will be at Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, 13057.

    Our thoughts are with you today and remembering the good old days back to growing up on Seneca St. and into our later years and all the good times we had with you and Wayne and Pat and Sonny. You and Wayne were always a gteat couple and we will remember you both always.
