William Charles Blum Sr., 82

William Charles Blum Sr., 82, a resident of Simeon Dewitt Apartments, passed away, Monday, November 09, 2009 at the Manor at Seneca Hill. Born in Oswego he was the son of the late Charles L. and Beryl (LeRoy) Blum.

Mr. Blum was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WWII.

He was the owner and operator of Bills Grocery in Oswego. Mr. Blum was an avid bowler and he won the Oswego Men’s Bowling Tournament twice. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving is three daughters, Shelley (Joseph) Ziegler of Eatontown, N.J; Tracey (Dr. Juan) Sotomayor of Liverpool and Tamara “Tami” (Kevin) Adair of Williamstown; three sons, William (Mary Beth) Blum Jr. of Oswego; Jonathan (Rebecca) Blum of Florida and Scott Blum of Montana; four brothers, Jerry (Alice) Blum, Jack Blum, Don (Arlene) Blum and Chuck “Charles”(Sondra) Blum; one sister, Betty Roy; seven grandchildren, William Ziegler, Kiley Sotomayor, Corey Sotomayor, Conner Sotomayor, Sean Blum, Mitchell Blum and Cody Adair; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Rose (Poworoznek) Blum in 1997.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 21st at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego

Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 3-6 p.m. Friday, November 20th at the funeral home.
