OCO Offers A Golden Opportunity

FULTON, NY – Oswego County Opportunities’ Friends of OCO, have announced that the agency has begun selling tickets for their second annual ‘Golden Opportunities Drawing.’

The contest will provide community members with the opportunity to win a share of up to $10,000 – including a grand prize of $5,000.

OCO board president John Babcock purchases a chance for OCO’s ‘Golden Opportunities Drawing’ from OCO senior services director Amy Roland. The fundraiser provides community members with the opportunity to win a share of up to $10,000.

“We are excited about offering the ‘Golden Opportunities Drawing’ and are encouraged by the interest it is generating,” said Cooper-Currier. “With the state and federal budget cuts we are dealing with and the increased demand for our services these are very challenging times.  Our ‘Golden Opportunities Drawing’ will help us raise some much needed funds for our programs and make seven lucky winners very happy!”

Cooper-Currier said that tickets for OCO’s ‘Golden Opportunities Drawing’ are available from OCO employees and board members, as well at OCO’s administrative office at 239 Oneida St., Fulton.

Ticket applications are also available on-line at www.oco.org

A limited number of 1,000 tickets will be sold with 7 winners receiving a share of the $10,000 payout.

In the event that fewer than 1,000 tickets are sold the prizes awarded will be equal to 50% of the total ticket sales.

The winning tickets will be drawn April 10 at OCO’s offices as part of OCO’s Annual Bowl-A-Fun activities.

“With the community involvement that our Bowl-A-Fun enjoys and the excitement that the ‘Golden Opportunities Drawing’ is generating we thought it would be appropriate to incorporate the two and make it an extra special event,” added Cooper-Currier.

All proceeds from OCO’s ‘Golden Opportunities Drawing’ will be used to create an endowment to provide financial support as needed to the many human service programs that OCO offers.

In 2008, OCO provided crisis intervention, food, clothing, emergency shelter, housing, health care, job training, education, transportation and family support services to more than 24,000 people within Oswego County.

“I encourage community members to be a part of our ‘Golden Opportunities Drawing,’ said Cooper-Currier. “Help us improve the quality of life in Oswego County by supporting the efforts of OCO. You could be one of our lucky winners and enjoy a share of $10,000 in prizes!”
