Onondaga CC Women’s Basketball Team In Pursuit Of A National Championship


SYRACUSE, NY – A pep rally was held this morning at the cafeteria in Gordon Student Center, Onondaga Community College campus, at Onondaga Community College to honor and send off the women’s basketball team as it continue its pursuit of a national championship.

The Lady Lazers (29-4) are going to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Elite Eight in Rochester, Minnesota.

Three Oswego County women are on the team.

They are a trio of sophomores: Sarah Bregg from Phoenix, Courtney Louis from Oswego and Allie Taylor of Hannibal.

Onondaga is the number two seed in the tournament and will play seventh seeded Northland Community College Thursday at 9 p.m. eastern.

The Lady Lazers advanced to the Elite Eight by winning the Region III Championship, defeating Fulton-Montgomery Community College 79-67 March 2.

Sophomore Lauren Roy (Bishop Ludden) was named Region III Most Valuable Player.
