The Common Council meeting on Tuesday may have an Affect on the City of Fulton that may be as devastating as the urban renewal of the 70’s.

If the Common Council votes to allow subsidized housing in the Nestle’ site.

How they vote could be devastating or an asset for the whole city of Fulton.

If the Common Council votes to have the Nestle’ site to be owner occupied affordable housing, the whole city will benefit from it.

If you think that the vote will only Affect the eastside of the City you will be in as big a surprise as the City of Oswego was when they were all reassessed.

When you have development in any shape the value of the City increases. The new development will have P.I.L.O.T.(payment in liu of taxes), the owner will pay a set amount and the remaining taxes will be divided equally among the other taxpayers.

Also, If that value doesn’t add revenue to the city, costs will raise and the whole city must cover the costs. The way to cover the costs is to raise taxes also.

Having this knowledge West-siders keep in mind that you are not just paying for the West-side you have to help cover the costs for the whole City.

We need owner occupied affordable housing in Fulton that will bring in revenue.

West-siders let your Common Councilors know this!

Tuesday the 18th of June, is voting day on a resolution that will change Fulton for the future.

Attending the meeting, your voice will let your representatives know how to vote.

So in closing, the possible raising of taxes will be Caused by the Affect of Tuesday nights’ vote.
