Your Governor did something no other Governor has ever done. He ran the full 15 mile Boilermaker marathon in Utica this past weekend. He’s also doing something most cannot do — rake in big piles of donor cash. Details in our daily roundup of news from around the state.
Gov. Paterson’s athletic prowess is no longer a secret. He finished tied for 5410th place, running the 15 mile route in 1:35.21. That put him almost smack dab in the middle of the pack of nearly 9800 runners. Seconds after crossing the finish line, he says he had no idea there were so many hills.
His prowess as a fundraiser was also a secret, but not anymore. He’s taken in more than $3 million in the last two months. It’s a good number for any governor, let alone one who got there late and by accident. The number worries good-government types.
