FUBAR in Washington DC and FCSD!

What is happening in our nation’s capital is uncontrolled chaos.

However, the same thing is happening in our own FCSD.

I have always been a champion to stop wasteful spending of taxpayers’ money.

However, in the private sector whenever there is a new manager of a department or Company. They take a long hard look at what and where they can save money to increase profits.

In Washington that is not being done.

The last place you want to cut in the private sector is in your rank and file. You know the people that are out there every day doing the jobs supplying the services.

However, it is the easiest place to make the cuts in the public sector.

With a claim that they are saving the taxpayers money by doing so.

When they are costing the taxpayer’s money more times than not, they are taking away a service that the taxpayers are paying for.

Where they never look is at the top of the chain of command, you know where the high price salaries are!

Now I’m not saying that a reduction in any workforce may be necessary, however after a long hard look, and not a mass reduction of thousands.

Now that we have put a spotlight on the Federal Government let’s look at our own FCSD.

There are rumors that again this year they are cutting rank and file workers in the janitorial department at each school.

When they should look at the top of the chain of command.

You know where the top is costing us more for one, than it costs us for 10 rank and file workers.

You know how they just spent a boat load of money moving the district offices back to 4th Street.

That move costs the taxpayers a loss of revenue along with a total cost of the move. This only after a move of maybe less than 10 yrs to move the offices over to the Jr. H.S.

Not a real genius move, oh well it’s only taxpayers money.

I’m sure they will say that it is the fault of the proposed cuts by the Federal Government. That is why they will need to make the cuts. The addition of janitorial workers was to cover the costs to clean because of the Pandemic and the Federal Government funding covered those costs.

Everyone should remember the old saying “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. If the schools aren’t cleaned properly the students will pay the price.

It will be reflected in the attendance, which in return will be reflected in the test scores.

Do I have faith in our B.O.E. to make the correct choices here.

NO, I don’t!

Everyone should go to a meeting an express your displeasure of how your taxpayer money is being spent.

Do it in the short time allowed to speak, you know 3 min.
