Please read the requests of Budget reductions by the Minority Caucus members: The Minority Caucus wants you and the employees affected by these requests please keep in mind that we don’t feel that you or they are doing a poor job but the fact that the rank and file of the County have expressed displeasure with the compensation plan of the County. Therefore, we feel that the Department heads should relinquish any raises until all County employees are receiving equal pay for equal work, no county should have any of its employees on the payroll and still receiving Public Assistance.

Now it is true that the State and Federal Govt. reimburse 75% of this salary but it is still tax dollars. So 25% is $28,763 in 1 yr and over 10yrs it would be $287,630 in savings.

  27. Reducing the Legislative body by 10 legislators to 15, will save the county $151,700 for 1yr. and over 10yrs $1,510,700
  28. Total savings if all requests are performed is $393,391 for 1 yr. and for 10yrs $3,933,910.
  29. The Minority Caucus would be open for discussions on any amendments to these requests.
