US War Crimes in Iran

In 2001, an unnamed general at the Pentagon told General Wesley Clark that Washington planned “to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran.”

Economist Michael Hudson wrote that Washington wanted to take out seven countries in five years because they were “seven countries that the United States needed to control in order to dominate the Middle East.”

In 2011, the U.S. launched an air war against Libya. The ensuing U.S. intervention in Libya turned the country into a failed state and reinstituted slavery. In 2014, the U.S. launched an air war against Syria and began Operation Timber-Sycamore: a CIA program that armed and trained radical jihadists. To this day, the U.S. is still engaged in an undeclared shadow war in Somalia.

The last country we need to take out is Iran. On July 7th, 2026, “The White House blew up the Hormuz cease-fire agreement,” according to the news publication Foreign Policy. Washington blew up any chance at diplomacy and restarted its outright war of aggression with Iran.

The goal is to take a sledgehammer to Iran and break it into pieces. Hudson explained, “With Iran broken up,” the U.S. “can control all Middle Eastern oil.” In its desperation to achieve this goal, Washington is openly committing war crimes.

The Latin American Summary reported, last month, “the United States attacked water facilities,” in Iran and left “more than 20,000 residents without drinking water amid high summer temperatures.”

Washington did it again on Saturday. Abdolhamid Hamzepur said that the US attacked a water desalination pump and cut off “the supply of drinking water to 20 villages with a population of approximately 10,000 people.”

President Trump threatened on Fox News he would hit civilian infrastructure, including, “power plants” and “bridges”. Last Friday, Foreign Policy reported that U.S. strikes “damaged at least five highway and railway bridges.” Last Wednesday, the U.S. hit “a wheat silo” and “a water plant”. The U.S. also destroyed an airport and a train station.

In addition to war crimes, the U.S. also reimposed a blockade on Iran. The Wall Street Journal explained that the U.S. blockade imposed “enormous costs on the population.” The renewed U.S. blockade put “the squeeze on [Iranian] households” and “hurts ordinary Iranians.”

Washington reimposed the blockade with the intention of deliberately hurting ordinary Iranians. The deliberate war crimes and deliberate economic warfare serve a purpose. They force the Iranian people to capitulate and overthrow their government.

It’s not enough, as the New York Times reported, that “at least 3,500 Iranians have died in the war, including 175 at an elementary school.”

Washington will continue inflicting pain until Iran’s entire economy collapses, no matter the price. The Times of India reported, “The United States has spent more than $100 billion on the Iran war in direct military costs over four months.”

Taxpayers fund Washington’s war crimes and Washington’s economic warfare against the people of Iran.
