Oswego County Historical Society Lawn Sale, Ice Cream Social Set June 16


OSWEGO — The Oswego County Historical Society will have a Lawn Sale & Ice Cream Social on June 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lawn of the Richardson-Bates House Museum, 135 E. Third St., in Oswego. This was the rain date in place, due to the inclement forecast of June 9.

An Ice Cream Social will take place from noon to 4 p.m. to any visitors who would like an ice cream sundae. Proceeds from the sale will support the museum operations. There will be a variety of items for sale, including vintage books, household items and collectibles. A large assortment of picture frames of various shapes and styles will be up for sale. An unusual pair of vintage cane back salon chairs will also be for sale, along with a salon hair dryer.

The society will have free ice cream sundaes for visitors from noon to 4 p.m. Bottled water and lemonade will be offered for sale throughout the day.

Gift shop items will also be for sale at a discount that day, including the museum‘s Christmas ornament, T-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, family tree charts, history books and more.

The gift shop items are perfect for Father’s Day, which is June 17. Proceeds from the lawn sale will support ongoing museum operations.

The Richardson-Bates House Museum is also open on Saturdays for tours from 1 – 5 p.m. For information about the sale call the museum weekday afternoons at 343-1342.
