In honor of VeteranÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Day, the Oswego County Legislature recognized all veterans during their November meeting. Special attention was paid to the contributions of our local veterans who fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. A certificate was presented to Fred Lockwood, vice chairman of the Oswego Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge; Miles Becker on behalf of John Canale, chairman of the Oswego County Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge; Legislator Paul Santore, District 16, on behalf of his deceased father Carmen Santore, veteran of the Battle of the Bulge; and Legislator Louella LeClair, District 25, on behalf of her deceased father Charles O. Griswold, veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. At hand during the presentation was Donna Kestner, director of Oswego County VeteransÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ Service Agency and the Oswego County LegislatureÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Health and Human Services Committee.
