SYRACUSE – Onondaga County Sheriff’s Detectives have charged three people from Oswego County accused of going door-to-door to scam residents out of money utilizing a photo of a six year old town of Geddes girl, who was diagnosed last year with stage three Wilms Disease.
A few weeks ago, the parents of Kaylee Marshfield reported that their daughter’s picture was being used in a scam.
According to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects were going door-to-door collecting money for Kaylee and identifying themselves as a relative of Kaylee’s and a representative of Saint Rose Church.
The suspects solicited money from neighborhoods in the area of Bridgeport, Onondaga Hill, Liverpool and the city of Syracuse, receiving hundreds of dollars.
Detectives charged Roger Dunn (44) Nicole Dunn (34) both of Central Square and Earl Woodridge (27) of Parish with scheme to defraud in the 1st degree, criminal impersonation 2nd degree and one count of attempted scheme to defraud in the 1st degree.
All three are being held at the Justice Center awaiting arraignment this evening (November 1) in Centralized Court.
Detectives continue to investigate the incidents.
